Almost everybody is bound to have a siren or mermaid (sorry, for me there's no difference, there is only one word for both in French so they got mixed in my imagination) picture in their gallery. Actually, everybody having a siren picture is also bound to say that everybody is bound to have such a picture in their gallery. Anyway...
This is a concept for mermaid armor. She's supposed to be facing her oponent, waiting for his first move, protecting the entrance of her cave, so that's why the pose seems to be slightly stiff (reminiscent of an other of my works: [link] ). Her armor is made of silver and blueish nacre disposed in curved or spiral motives inspired by waves. The lower parts of the armor attach to her four fins. She's not floating, her tail is lying on the ground under the water. Her gills are hidden under the breast armor.
The armor is slightly influenced by armor from the Saint Seiya manga series. I know perfectly well that I have already used the same concept for breast armor once ( [link] ), but I thought it was well adapted for this piece too. As for those who will complain that a warrior should have more protection and show more skin, well, she has to be able to swim with this, and in combat she relies more on her own agility.

Started as a small drawing, I inked it (wish I had had a better ballpoint pen), scanned it, printed it at a greater scale, and colored it using color and grey pencils.
